Antonio Allbritten's New CD Mixes Eclectic Styles, Latin Flavor for a Wholly Unique Sound
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Singer/songwriter Antonio Allbritten says the inspiration for his complex arrangements often comes in those moments between sleep and waking. His dreams must be beautiful ones, because Allbritten's new album, "El Oscuro Paso (The Dark Passage)" (Fantasy Phase Four Music Production Company, LLC, http://www.myspace.com/antonioallbritten), evokes images of tropical beaches and lush rainforests, even as it features disco backbeats and woodwinds wrapped around electronic melodies.
Available for purchase at iTunes and Amazon, "El Oscuro Paso" showcases Allbritten's indie sensibility. From "Antigua Samba Arbol (The Old Shade Tree)," which really does sound like the music one would hope to hear while sitting under a shady tree, to "La Demente Sombrerero (The Mad Hatter)," a laid-back instrumental reggaeton (fusion of reggae and Latin American music) song, the album delivers the intricately layered compositions for which Allbritten has become known. And though they are thoroughly modern, all ten songs of "El Oscuro Paso" sound like the music one might hear during a stroll through any long-established Central American neighborhood.
In his review of "El Oscuro Paso," HOY magazine's Tommy Calle wrote that Allbritten "... manages to captivate the audience from start to finish ... The material combines very slow and fast [rhythms and] seems devoted to a love of the past, nostalgia and nature." [Translated from the original Spanish.]
Early iTunes reviews of "El Oscuro Paso" were equally positive. "The beats are to die for," wrote one reviewer. "[The album] reminded me of my trip to the Bahamas with the tropical beats put in here. I am a huge fan!"
"Listening to Antonio [Allbritten] is definitely a trip to exotic locales where there are only you and your music," wrote another. "I recommend listening in a moment of total relaxation." [Translated from the original Spanish.]
