NEW YORK, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifetime Television's watercooler series "Army Wives" smashed through the competition on both broadcast and basic cable on Sunday night. The drama trounced all the broadcast networks in W18-49 ratings during the 10PM (ET/PT) time period.

The more than 70 Nielsen-metered basic cable networks fared no better. The "Army Wives" juggernaut was the #1 rated program for all of prime, including its 10PM time slot, among households, P2+, P18-34, P18-49, P25-54, W18-34, W18-49, W25-54 and W18+.

These numbers powered Lifetime to its highest-rated Sunday prime since September 2007 among W18-34 and W18-49, and propelled the network to #1 for the entire week in prime W18-34.

All four Sunday telecasts reached more than 8.8 million P2+.

Page view traffic on Monday, June 9, to Lifetime Digital properties, including myLifetime.com and the "Army Wives" show site, shattered the five-year mark set on Sunday. Traffic surged 155 percent year-to-year for the day.

Filmed on location in Charleston, S.C., "Army Wives" stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller and Catherine Bell. Mark Gordon and The Mark Gordon Company's president of production, Deborah Spera, serve as executive producers. Nick Thiel and series creator Katherine Fugate also serve as executive producers.
