Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Announces Heroes Day and the DVD Debut of the Documentary Film, Home Front

WWP invites the public to get involved and give back to wounded soldiers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Wounded Warrior Project announces the first annual Heroes Day in conjunction with the release of the critically acclaimed documentary, Home Front on DVD, on June 2, 2008.

Inspired by their experiences making the Showtime film, Director Richard Hankin and Producer Meredith Lavitt Williams teamed up with Wounded Warrior Project to spearhead the Heroes Day campaign: Helping and Encouraging the Reintegration of Our Extraordinary Servicemembers.

To date, more than 30,000 American troops have been wounded in the war in Iraq, and for many soldiers in combat, returning home can be the start of a different battle. Home Front captures the human story of one wounded American soldier's return to civilian life in his small hometown in western Pennsylvania. Both heartbreaking and inspiring, Home Front follows Jeremy Feldbusch as he readjusts to family, community -- and most importantly, his new, altered self.

Feldbusch's story is a window into the struggles faced by thousands of wounded men and women whose stories are rarely told, but who deserve recognition for the victories they achieve every day. Heroes Day is a small opportunity to honor these brave warriors.

"Home Front is a moving true story that provides a voice to the challenges of our returning wounded warriors," said John Melia, Wounded Warrior Project's Founder and Executive Director. "WWP is honored to be a part of the Heroes Day campaign and we urge the general public to get involved in any way they can."

Individuals can get involved with Heroes Day by:

-- Writing an Op-Ed about the significance of Heroes Day in the local
newspaper. Copies can also be sent to info@homefrontthemovie.com.

page at http://www.homefrontthemovie.com/partnershomefront.php, and
will be included in all press releases and media kits.

Front for members and attendees.
