NEW YORK, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Rick Baran has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, CBS Television Stations. The announcement was made today by Tom Kane, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Television Stations.

Guitano had served both as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer for the TV stations prior to joining CBS Radio as Senior Executive Vice President of Finance & Operations and Chief Financial Officer in November 2007.
Baran is joining CBS after having spent the past five-and-a-half years with Tyco International, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of Earth Tech, an infrastructure and consulting business with 7,000 global employees that is focused in environmental, facilities, transportation and water markets. He joined Tyco in March 2003 as Corporate Ombudsman and played a key role in helping to restore credibility at the company in the wake of its 2002 accounting scandal.

"We are very pleased to welcome Rick Baran to the CBS family," said Kane. "Rick is a highly accomplished leader and consensus builder who has effectively managed change and growth in numerous industries throughout his career. We look forward to having him lead the outstanding finance team that we are fortunate to already have in place, which includes Mike Wittman (Vice President, Finance, CBS Television Stations) and the controllers at each of our stations."
Baran earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts. He then earned his M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Connecticut. Baran has been a licensed attorney in Connecticut since 1994.
