National Press Club Panel Features Leading Chicago Journalists Discussing State of Media

A panel discussion on "The First Amendment, Freedom of Speech and the Future of Journalism" featuring leading Chicago journalists. The panel is part of a public education campaign undertaken by the National Press Club to honor its centennial year. The Press Club's partners in this national program are: the World Affairs Council and Aviva USA, one of the nation's fastest growing life insurers.

Wednesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. The program begins with a reception followed by welcoming remarks. A screening of the documentary film "The National Press Club at 100: a Century of Headlines" begins at 7:00 p.m. The panel discussion itself will begin after the film at 8:00 p.m. The panel will conclude at 9:00 p.m.

As part of a year-long effort to mark its Centennial, the National Press Club, the world's leading professional organization for journalists, is organizing an ambitious program aimed at screening its documentary film before audiences in all 50 states. Each statewide film premiere will be followed by a panel discussion with leading journalists.
