Get Digital Data Launches Blu-ray Support in the GD3 Database, Signs Inteset to Power its Media Server Lineup
The most comprehensive DVD and Blu-ray lookup database now available to enable next generation media products and rich user interfaces
INDIANAPOLIS, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital media innovator Get Digital Data, LLC., now offers Blu-ray Disc metadata in its massive GD3 lookup database. Nearly 2,000 Blue-ray titles are now available via GD3, adding to the 500,000 DVD titles available for identification worldwide. With this launch, Get Digital Data becomes the first lookup service to support Blu-ray and provide data to end-users by utilizing disc recognition techniques. "Blu-ray Disc is quickly gaining popularity in the media server space," said Doug Strachota, co-founder and CEO of Get Digital Data. "We're excited to be the first major service to support this new format standard with world class metadata to power new products and services catering to the Blu-ray and DVD market."
Media server manufacturer Inteset will be one of the first companies to release products based on GD3's DVD and Blu-ray metadata. "Finding GD3 to fulfill our data requirements was refreshing. Our high-end media server products require high quality data sources with worldwide coverage and GD3 delivers," commented Jeff Lloyd, President of Inteset, LLC.
Revered by encoding professionals worldwide for accuracy and high-resolution cover art, Get Digital Data's GD3 database also includes over 2.5 million CD titles. With the addition of DVD and Blu-ray, GD3 becomes the largest and most comprehensive metadata source worldwide. GD3 is the flat-out leader in video metadata with over double the amount of competitor Gracenote's planned 195,000 DVD offering.
Get Digital Data has revolutionized the metadata market by licensing direct to end-users utilizing the first 'per-lookup' pricing structure, along with traditional per-device licensing like those offered by competitors Gracenote and AMG. Get Digital Data employs a web service architecture to access GD3 metadata, simplifying development. For more details on GD3 licensing and implementation, visit www.getdigitaldata.com/GD3.aspx .
