Founding Members of UK Supergroups Free and Pink Floyd, Andy Fraser and Roger Waters Encourage U.S. Voters to Make a Change
LOS ANGELES, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's news coming from The Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California held over the weekend, is Pink Floyd founder Roger Water's support of Barack Obama. According to Digital Spy, "Waters released an inflatable blow-up pig from the stage with the words 'Don't be led to the slaughter' written on its side. It also featured a cartoon of Uncle Sam holding two meat cleavers. According to the Associated Press, underneath the pig was a ballot paper with Obama's name ticked."
Last month former Free member, legendary bassist and songwriter (All Right Now) Andy Fraser, independently, launched a new Web site http://www.obamarocks08.com/ , campaign song and video in support of the U.S. Presidential candidate, Barack Obama. The focus of Fraser's efforts is to encourage youth to get involved in the democratic process, regardless of who they support, as their voice is imperative to make the world a better place. In addition to the free video and music download, the site also offers links to the candidate's own Web site and Rock The Vote where prospective voters can register to participate in the upcoming U.S. election.
"Like other citizens of the world, I am not unaware of the global significance of the upcoming U.S. elections," states Fraser. "I may not have a vote, but I have a voice. So united in spirit, let's get the word out!" Obamarocks08.com has been working with campaign offices and youth field representatives supplying them with audio and visual copies of "Obama, Yes We Can" for use at campaign rallies, on radio and television.
