In "It's a Bug's World," Diego and his friend Kicho are on their way to the Whirligig Beetle dance contest and they use Kicho's magic flute to shrink to bug size to enter the secret river. But when they get to the contest, Benito the Beetle's dance partner Betty hasn't arrived and if she doesn't make it, Benito can't participate. With Click the Camera's help, Diego finds Betty who has hurt her wing and can't fly to the river. On the rescue mission, Diego and Kicho navigate around "giant" animals that can't see them because they're bug size and ask for help from Spanish speaking flowers to protect them from "giant" raindrops. Betty uses her stinky beetle smell to get away from a frog, and Baby Jaguar must step high to help them through a muddy road. After Diego climbs up a spider web, they enter the secret river and reunite Betty and Benito in time for the contest.

In each episode, Diego (Jake T. Austin) receives a call for help at his Animal Rescue Center in the rainforest. With help from his friends, high-tech gadgets and viewers at home, Diego identifies and locates the animal in trouble and the adventure begins. Diego is joined by his 11-year-old sister Alicia (Serena Kerrigan), a computer whiz who is also bilingual and easily switches between speaking English and Spanish. Baby Jaguar is the animal closest to Diego's heart, and his youthful eagerness sometimes puts him in precarious situations. Other characters include Click (Rosie Perez), a high-tech camera with a knack for locating lost animals; Rescue Pack, a messenger bag that can transform into any form of transportation that Diego needs, like a boat, snowboard or parasail; and the Bobo Brothers, a mischievous pair of spider monkeys. Diego's cousin Dora also makes guest appearances in the series.
Go, Diego, Go! was created and executive produced by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes, the same team behind the phenomenal hit show Dora the Explorer.
