DALLAS, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Barack Obama's campaign for president has been called historic. But what does making history look like from the inside? And does his campaign indicate how he would run the government? Dan Rather and his team will present a special, behind-the-scenes look at the campaign in action on "Dan Rather Reports: On The Obama Campaign" airing on HDNet on Tuesday, April 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

"One of the things we try to do on this program is to give perspective and context on how things really work -- and on this episode, we look at a modern political campaign in action," said Rather. "We went backstage, sat down with the candidate and his staff, talked to our colleagues in the press who are covering the campaign from inside the bubble, and met with local elected officials and average voters who saw the political circus sweep through their towns."
Rather was granted unique access to Senator Obama and his staff as they traveled through Pennsylvania, on a 6-day multi-city bus tour in preparation for that state's primary on April 22.
"There's no doubt that sometimes this is a grind," Obama told Rather in a one-on-one interview during a campaign stop. Obama also went onto say that, "every time I start feeling sorry for myself, I'm reminded of the troops who are on 15-month rotations in Baghdad. What I'm going through is nothing like what they're going through."
Rather also speaks with Obama's chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod for his perspective on managing a 21st century campaign.
"Dan Rather Reports: On The Obama Campaign" premieres on HDNet, Tuesday, April 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET with a re-air at 11:00 p.m. ET to accommodate West Coast Prime Time.
