Cox Northern Virginia Launches Comcast SportsNet HDTV

Cox Northern Virginia Launches Comcast SportsNet HDTV

New channel launched just in time for National Hockey League playoffs featuring Washington Capitals hockey action

HERNDON, Va., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications Northern Virginia announced today that it has added Comcast SportsNet HDTV to its programming lineup. The new channel will allow sports fans to enjoy Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Redskins preseason, college basketball, college football and D.C. United action, all in true high-definition format.

The launch is particularly timely since the Washington Capitals amazing run to the playoffs begins Friday, when they battle the Philadelphia Flyers. The National Basketball Association's Washington Wizards have also clinched a playoff berth, so Comcast SportsNet HDTV will feature Wizards playoff games as well.

Below is a schedule of Comcast SportsNet HDTV's first-round coverage of the NHL playoffs. All games will be produced in high definition. The network will carry complete game, pre- and post-game coverage throughout the playoffs.
