Reporter Tom Wait Joins the Channel 7 Action News Team

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Tom Wait has been named a general assignment reporter at WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 effective Monday, March 24th. The announcement was made by WXYZ-TV News Director Andrea Parquet-Taylor.

Wait joins Channel 7 from KCTV5, the ABC affiliate in Kansas City, where he was a general assignment reporter since 2005. Prior to that, Tom worked for 'News 12 The Bronx' in New York where he served as both a reporter and anchor for the station. While at News 12, Wait anchored the station's 2004 presidential election coverage.

Wait has covered a myriad of national stories including: the Greensburg, KS tornado of May, 2007 in which a devastating storm nearly destroyed an entire town. Tom also received national recognition for his coverage of a local mall shooting in Kansas City, MO, where three people were killed and dozens of others injured.

Originally from Claremont, CA, Wait received his bachelor's degree from the University of California in Berkley and continued his education in New York, earning his master's degree in journalism from New York University.
