Popular St. Louis Music Radio Station Has Gone to the Dogs

Animal Tails will be the first talk radio show for KLOU

ST. LOUIS, March 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clear Channel's My 103.3 KLOU opens it doors to a St. Louis first, a talk show about animals starting March 30th. Animal Tails will air every Sunday at 8pm.

"Nearly 70% of all households have a pet. We're excited to give this vocal majority an outlet to hear advice and have their specific questions addressed by St. Louis' own animal aficionado Randy Grim," says Tommy Austin, Director of Programming Operations for Clear Channel radio.

Animal Tails will feature the latest discussions in animal welfare and advocacy, environmental issues, pet care and a host of other unusual, off-beat, amazing, and heartwarming subjects. Guests include some of the animal world's top newsmakers, veterinarians and authors. The first show will feature a well-known St. Louis sports star, Barret Jackman of the St. Louis Blues hockey club, followed by Actress Loretta Swit from the iconic M*A*S*H television show.

As dynamic as the show, its host and co-host won't disappoint. Randy Grim's introduction to the national scene came with the unforgettable book The Man Who Talks to Dogs: America's wild street dogs and their unlikely savior. Locally, St. Louis knows Grim as the founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Grim is featured on Animal Planet, National Geographic, People Magazine, The Today Show, PAX Television, NPR, CNN, The Weather Channel and has coined his own award winning book, Miracle Dog: How Quentin Survived the Gas Chamber to Speak for Animals on Death Row.

Lisbeth Tanz is no stranger to radio. After her stint of hosting Authors on the Air, she has teamed up with Grim in the formation of Animal Tails.

"I've been a lifelong animal lover and advocate, and I'm always seeking opportunities to use my creative communication skills to educate on the plight of animals, nature and the environment in today's world. So, when the chance to work with Randy on the radio show appeared, I jumped at it!" Tanz said, smiling. "We make a very good team - he's cute and I'm funny. Or, wait. Maybe it's the other way around... "

Tanz's resume reads like a glossary of expertise. Be it her current business, The Hired Pen (http://www.lisbethtanz.com/) to animal training and communication. Tanz is also a primary columnist and writer for the Women's Journal.

"With Lis's awesome radio, animal and writing background, the show is destined to entertain. We will be like the Batman and Robin of radio," Grim says with a chuckle.
