Michael Eisner's Vuguru and Dinosaur Diorama Launch Original Web Series 'The All-For-Nots'
HDNet to Provide Exclusive Sneak Preview of the Internet Based Docu-Comedy
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Eisner's independent media studio, Vuguru (www.vuguru.com), along with Dinosaur Diorama Productions (www.dinosaurdiorama.com), creators of the hit web series The Burg, today launched the fully scripted Internet series, The All-For-Nots. The series will premiere tonight at 7:45 pm ET on HDNet and will make its Internet debut on March 11 at www.theallfornots.com and on Verizon Wireless V CAST Video-enabled phones.
Created by Thom Woodley and Kathleen Grace of Dinosaur Diorama, the original Internet comedy series follows a documentary crew filming a fictional indie rock band as they travel the U.S. on a low budget, mismanaged tour. The All-For-Nots totals 300 minutes of scripted story telling as well as 12 original songs written by the show's creators.
"Dinosaur Diorama is the perfect partner for us because they are innovative story tellers that produce dynamic content that is both engaging and viable for distribution across all video platforms," said Michael Eisner. "The All-For-Nots is another example of the unique and exciting content that Vuguru is helping create for a generation that is increasingly turning to new media for their entertainment."
Following the success of its Emmy Award(R)-nominated drama series, Prom Queen, Vuguru continues to pave the way as the leader in high-quality, story driven content produced for new media platforms.
"The All-For-Nots appeals to a wide demographic; from the young and hip to anyone who has ever had visions of trekking cross-country with friends or in a band," said writer/creator Thom Woodley. "Vuguru is visionary in its approach to provide entertainment to new forms of media and we're excited to collaborate with them on this fun and groundbreaking project," said director/creator Grace.
The lead advertising partners for The All-For-Nots are Chrysler and Expedia.com, and both will have distinct product placement within the series. The show will feature Chrysler's 2008 Dodge Nitro and Expedia.com's online tools for making travel arrangements.
Two to three new episodes will air each week throughout the duration of the series, along with bonus concert footage from each stop on the nationwide tour. Bebo, the global social media network, will be a destination where viewers can tune-in on a daily basis and interact with the cast through profiles they have created. Blip.tv, a leading Internet TV network for independent shows, will serve as the host of the show on www.theallfornots.com and will also feature the show on its homepage for the first month of the series. Additional web distribution has also been established allowing the series to air on Internet sites including YouTube, Veoh, DailyMotion, Hulu, imeem, iTunes and mania.TV.
In a first for an original web-based series, the show will be made available on all forms of video entertainment including online, cable and mobile. After the premiere, new episodes will air on HD Net every Sunday at 7:30 pm ET, and will be available on demand on Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video- enabled phones. This will mark the second time Verizon Wireless has shown a web-based series from Vuguru on V CAST Video -- last year it offered the hugely popular Prom Queen series on its V CAST Video service.
