Huey Lewis and the News, Gipsy Kings family, and Vittorio Grigolo Among Scheduled Performers at The Land Rover America's Polo Cup
LEESBURG, Va., March 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Land Rover America's Polo Cup has announced six different artists will perform the weekend of the event, May 9th and May 10th. The musical entertainment will be sure to add to the wonderful atmosphere at Historic Morven Park, and allow the Cup's attendees to enjoy the weekend to the fullest. The lineup will consist of four performances on Friday night, followed by another three on Saturday. Tareq Salahi, co-founder of The Land Rover America's Polo Cup, is honored to have all of these national artists on board. "The diversity of music represents the United States and our love for music, and we are excited that these musical performances will occur over the two days of the America's Cup. We know that they will bring a very professional level of entertainment to this already prestigious event."
The confirmed performers are:
Miss Virginia 2006, Adrianna Sgarlata (Friday evening) - Adrianna Sgarlata graduated from George Mason University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music, Concentration in Vocal Performance. Her beautiful voice won her the talent competition for Miss Virginia 2006, where she was eventually crowned as the winner. Adrianna is known for her powerful opera routines, and has performance experience in 7 different languages.
Antonio Giuliano (Friday evening) - Antonio Giuliano is the lead chorus singer for the United States Army and has been granted the title of "American Tenor Sergeant First Class". As a soloist he has represented his country and received standing ovations worldwide. Giuliano was honored by singing an A Cappella version of Ronald Reagan's favorite hymn, "Amazing Grace", at the former President's funeral in Simi Valley, California.
The Gipsy Kings family (Friday evening) - This soulful band is highly acclaimed all over the world, including places like France, Brazil, and Persia. They play a variety of Flamenco and Latin-Rhythm music and have proudly become the most successful musical outfit in Europe, including Italy.
Huey Lewis and the News (Saturday) - Huey Lewis and the News is a popular all American rock band from San Francisco, California. The band is known for singing light-hearted songs that combine rock and soul. In 1986 they won two Grammy awards while being nominated for an Academy Award for their number-one U.S. hit The Power of Love, which was featured in the blockbuster film "Back to the Future". They will represent the United States at the closing ceremonies before the Fireworks show.
No Speed Limit (Saturday) - No Speed Limit is a folk band that started by playing on the street during the Old Fiddler's Convention in Galax, VA. Since then they have seen a rush of success. The group of five includes vocalist Amber Collins who has previously been named Teen-age, Young Performer, and A Cappella Artist of the Year by the Country Gospel Music Association. The band has also toured with The Lonesome River Band, The Del McCoury Band, and Ralph Stanley.
Vittorio Grigolo (Saturday) - At the early age of 13, Grigolo debuted with a role in the opera "Tosca" at the Opera House in Rome. Since, he has traveled the globe to perform in some of the world's most prestigious places, such as the Royal Albert Hall in London. His latest release features a stunning duet with Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls. Vittorio is Italy's hottest new Tenor and has an amazingly elegant Italian voice and promises to perform the classics from Italy during his performance at the America's Cup.
