90.9 KCBI: Uniting With Union University

Disaster Relief Fund Raiser, Friday February 8 (6-9AM)

DALLAS, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tomorrow morning from 6-9AM (CST), 90.9 KCBI will reach out to our friends in Jackson, Tennessee. At 6:00AM, KCBI will kick-off a three-hour live broadcast from our studios in Arlington to raise money for disaster relief at Union University. This university took a serious punch in the tornado on Tuesday. For now, the school is closed and students have no classes -- many have no where to go. 90.9 KCBI wants to help, and we know our listeners will respond tomorrow because they have already started responding to our appeal today!

After seeing pictures of the devastated school and hearing interviews with some of the students at Union, KCBI's Mike Tirone felt called to action immediately.

"KCBI is doing this because we are children of God. This is what Jesus has called us to do," said Mr. Tirone. "We see people hurting, and we must lead the way. We can't sit around and wait for someone else to help. Change starts in the mirror."

Tomorrow morning, KCBI is inviting our listeners and supporters to call in and give a donation, 100% of which will go to Union University. One of our news anchors, Chris Howell, will be on site in Jackson and will be providing live interviews in the morning from those in the shattered community. KCBI listeners have always been quick to respond to a call for help, so we expect great things to happen from 6-9AM (CST) tomorrow morning!
