HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Screen star Maud Adams, the only lead female actress to appear in two James Bond epics, will announce the winners of the first national contest for entertainment journalists in the nation at a 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, reception at the Los Angeles Press Club.

Adams, who appeared in "Octopussy" and "The Man with the Golden Gun" opposite Roger Moore, will name the writer, editors and producers who submitted winning entries in the club's first Entertainment Journalism Awards contest. The cocktail celebration at the club's Hollywood Boulevard headquarters is open to all. The event is free to press club members and out of town entertainment journalists -- $10 to all others.

"The Press Club's goal is to leave the news establishment shaken, not only stirred, with our new contest -- so it's only fitting that our event is emceed by a legendary 'Bond girl' like Adams," said Press Club President Chris Woodyard.

The event will mark the successful conclusion of a contest that included entries from all facets of journalism, from news weeklies to bloggers. The date was chosen to coincide with the events of Oscar week in Southern California, leading up to Sunday's presentation of the Academy Awards.

"Our reception is aimed at honoring the hard-working journalists who cover entertainment industry during a week many of them will be in town for the Oscars," Woodyard said.

Adams, a native of Sweden, had a successful modelling career before turning to film. She has appeared in a series of films, including "Tattoo" with Bruce Dern and "Rollerball" with James Caan.
