Malkia and Marc Chambers of Arlington Heights were overwhelmed when they were told of the unexpected gifts. "I absolutely can't believe it," said the shocked bride. The offering even stunned David Orr, the Cook County Clerk, who performs the first wedding every year. "Wow! This is way over the top!" said Orr.

For the past 17 years, the Cook County Clerk's office has offered the first couple to apply for a marriage license the chance to get a complimentary dinner, theater tickets, and a hotel stay if they get married on the spot, but this year, SmartBride.TV stepped in to take things up a notch. "We wanted make a big splash and introduce ourselves by partnering with Chicagoland wedding vendors to surprise and congratulate the first married couple of the year," said Ray Pryor, SmartBride.TV's creator.
