Quorum Productions' Hit Television Show Designing Spaces Teams with DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals to Educate Homeowners on the Importance of Indoor Air Quality
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. and ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Environmental Protection Agency ranks poor indoor air quality among the top five environmental risks to public health, and surprisingly, the levels of air pollution in the home can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels. Because the biggest source of contaminants comes from a home's mechanical system, Designing Spaces invited John Rotche, President and Founder of Ductz(R) Indoor Air Professionals, to help educate viewers on how they can ensure a healthy home environment. The key, according to Rotche, is to maintain the cleanliness of hidden spaces by having a trained professional inspect the home's ducts and heating and cooling systems every one to two years. The show airs nationally on Women's Entertainment Network on January 25 at 7:30 a.m., and The Learning Channel on January 26 at 7 a.m.
"Just because you can't see them doesn't mean you're not breathing contaminants, and this is particularly harmful for people with allergies, asthma or respiratory ailments," says Rotche. "It is important to ensure that the actual cleaning process itself is both safe and effective; therefore, we train our network of professionals at a model home that includes every type of duct system that they might encounter in homes throughout the country."
As part of the ten-minute television segment, the Designing Spaces crew is taken on a tour of the DUCTZ International Training House model home at DUCTZ headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich. Senior Vice President Tom Yacobellis describes the process that DUCTZ takes to rid a duct system of contaminants and demonstrates that process to the Designing Spaces crew.
"It's important for homeowners and business owners to note that without the right equipment and an in-depth knowledge of indoor air contaminants and the health threat they pose, it's easy for smaller scale duct cleaners to do more harm than good when cleaning a duct system," says Yacobellis. "We at DUCTZ are excited for the Designing Spaces viewing audience to see evidence of the capability and knowledge that DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals has to offer."
