NEW YORK, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Hockey League (NHL) has added alternative country group Old 97's to the bill for the Verizon Wireless / NHL All-Stars Present an Evening with Wyclef Jean to Benefit Usher's New Look Foundation event on January 25 at the Tabernacle during the 2008 NHL All- Star Weekend in Atlanta. The band will open for headliner and Grammy Award- winning musician Wyclef Jean at the charity event hosted by global superstar, singer, businessman and humanitarian, Usher. Proceeds from the star-studded event will benefit Usher's New Look Foundation.

Starting today, additional tickets to the event are available for purchase. Fans can purchase $30 upper level tickets in addition to $75 concert hall level tickets. Doors will open at 9 p.m.

Inspired by classic country, rock and punk, the Old 97's have released nine albums. Originally from Dallas, the band, comprised of Rhett Miller on lead vocals and guitar, Murry Hammond on bass guitar and vocals, Ken Bethea on guitar and Philip Peeples on drums, has developed a strong fan following for its eclectic sound.

Usher, a five-time Grammy-winner and native of Atlanta, will emcee the 2008 NHL All-Star Weekend event, which will benefit his New Look Foundation, a non-profit program established to expose young people to the business side of sports and entertainment.

The 2008 NHL All-Star Weekend in Atlanta will feature live national broadcasts of the Dodge/NHL SuperSkills event on Saturday, Jan. 26 and the NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 27 on VERSUS in the United States and CBC and RDS in Canada. NASN and other international broadcasters will provide live coverage of both the Dodge/NHL SuperSkills event and the NHL All-Star Game to more than 115 countries and territories in Europe.
