New 'America's Marines' TV Commercial Strengthens America's Understanding of the Marine Corps
WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Marine Corps -- committed to the protection of all Americans, from coast to coast, past, present and future -- will premiere a groundbreaking new television commercial, titled "America's Marines." The commercial will air tonight on Fox during the second evening of the two-night premiere of "American Idol" and on January 20 during the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game on Fox.
"America's Marines are dedicated to a sense of honor, a life of courage and a commitment to something greater than themselves," said Major Wes Hayes, spokesperson for the Marine Corps Recruiting Command. "For more than 230 years, America's Marines have defended this nation, dedicated to making Marines, winning battles and returning quality citizens."
The new commercial is part of the America's Marines campaign initiated last September to strengthen America's understanding of the Marine Corps. The campaign consisted of a nationwide tour and a new Web site. During the tour, America's Marines traveled throughout the country and reached out to local communities to display the discipline and teamwork that define the Corps' ethos.
"For Marines, Semper Fidelis is more than just a motto, it's a way of life," added Hayes. "America's Marines are the few and the proud -- an elite and diverse group of men and women who are always faithful to our nation, the Marine Corps and each other."
The commercial features a symbolic line of Marines standing ready to defend our nation. It was filmed at iconic landmarks across the United States including the Golden Gate Bridge, Independence Hall, Times Square, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and the Rocky Mountains. The commercial was also filmed in picturesque small towns in Tennessee, Kentucky and Rhode Island.
