Debut Broadcasting Corporation, Inc. Kicks Off New Year with New Business Successes
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Debut Broadcasting Corporation, Inc. (NASDAQ:DBTB), a Radio broadcasting and syndication company, announced today the results of a new business initiative with Nashville-based Gabriel Media.
Company CEO, Steven Ludwig commented, "In the first 30 days, this effort has already created annually-renewable agreements from 15 completely new advertising clients." The new business initiative concentrates on annual agreements with first-time advertisers that represent recurring, predictable monthly revenue. Ludwig added, "For 2008, these early results already represent roughly 20% of last year's (2007) projected sales."
Successful planning and execution of this initiative is the critical step in a three-phase sales development plan. The first phase concentrated on re- tooling the sales team. Phase two focused on maximizing the existing customer base. Phase three is new business development. "We've been encouraged by these strong results so far, which have surpassed expectations, and the next step is to now roll out this strategy market-to-market as we make additional Radio acquisitions," commented Ludwig. "Prior to our acquisition of these stations, there was not a focus on long-term selling. These are the kind of advantages our business model accretes to the Radio Stations we're acquiring."
The Company retained the consulting services of Nashville-based Gabriel Media for the new business initiative. Based on its success, the company plans to work with Gabriel as additional markets are acquired this year. Ludwig added, "Gabriel has experts in new business development, and outsourcing their assistance helps us more efficiently create new customers while reducing our overall risks and costs."
The Company has raised its 2008 sales forecast for the Greenville, MS market on the basis of early results in the new business initiative, and expects financial impact from these new advertising customers to be reflected in Q1 2008 reporting.
