Consumer Reports to Release National Poll on Awareness of Digital TV Transition
With the transition to digital television just over a year away, a national poll by Consumer Reports found widespread confusion among consumers about the transition and the options available to keep analog sets working after February 17, 2009.
The poll found consumers have many misconceptions, including thinking all sets will need a conversion box to function or thinking all analog sets will no longer work and should be thrown away.
The survey results will be released Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. along with policy suggestions to improve consumer education efforts.
