White Christmas Still on the Cards for the UK
White Christmas Still on the Cards for the UK
WORCESTER, England, December 11/PRNewswire/ -- Leading weather forecasting company Netweather.tv have been monitoring
the likely weather during the festive period across the UK since November in
order to try and answer the question on every ones lips... Will it be a White
Christmas?
As the 25th draws ever closer, it's now becoming possible to start to
firm up the forecasts for the Christmas period and at this time,
Netweather.tv are still refusing to rule out snow on Xmas day for at least
part of the country. Currently London is forecast to have a 20% chance of
snow on Xmas day, with Manchester also at 20% and Edinburgh at 30%.
Forecaster Paul Michaelwaite explains the situation, "Even with just a
couple of weeks to go until Christmas, it's still very hard to give a
specific forecast. We have been expecting cold air to be close by to the UK
during the Xmas period since November though, and that's not changed, whether
that cold will be over the UK and whether or not that will provide snowfall
is of course the big question."
It's not just for sentimental reasons that the weather plays a huge role
during Christmas, with many of us travelling to visit family and friends,
poor weather conditions can cause major delays. Paul Michaelwaite adds,
"We've all seen that it really doesn't take very much snow at all to grind
our transport system to a halt, particularly across Southern England. Even if
snow isn't on the agenda as we move closer to Christmas, we would advise
people to pay attention to the latest weather forecast, as with the UK likely
to be close to the dividing line between mild and cold air, very active, and
even severe weather is always a possibility".
Netweather.tv will be regularly updating their Christmas weather forecast
between now and Christmas eve with the very latest information, including the
now legendary 'Santa Shaker'!.
