Samantha Greene Woodruff Promoted to Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group
NEW YORK, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group has promoted Samantha Greene Woodruff to Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, it was announced by Dominique Crosby, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. In her new role, Ms. Woodruff will support senior management in the development of long-range strategy plans for the various brands within the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group including Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, The N, Noggin, Nicktoons Network and its entire digital portfolio.

"Samantha has proven to be an asset in terms of our brand development, helping us expand in the digital, magazine and family travel segments," said Ms. Crosby. "She was instrumental in last year's acquisition of Quizilla, an online site for teen girls, and will continue to be a major contributor to our long-range planning efforts."
As Vice President, Ms. Woodruff will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and recommending new business opportunities, and providing long-term strategic analysis and vision for the brands' existing lines of business such as digital, recreation, consumer products, and magazines, among others. Most recently, she was the Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development first for the Nickelodeon Magazine Group and then for the Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group, Ms. Woodruff spearheaded the development strategy for the Nickelodeon Magazine division, as well as several acquisitions in the digital space including popular teen social networking site Quizilla in 2006. She was a key player in deals including the recent Nickelodeon Resorts by Marriott agreement, where Nickelodeon and Marriott International will conceptualize and co-develop a new lodging resort brand for the traveling family. Up to 20 potential hotels are expected to be under construction by 2020.
Ms. Woodruff began her career with MTV Networks in 1998 as a Research and Planning Analyst with TV Land and moved up the ranks to Director of Research and Planning for Nick at Nite and TV Land. She then transitioned to L'Oreal USA in Maybelline's Global Marketing division where she managed the Maybelline product portfolio, provided analysis of product performance in key global markets, and directed the development and execution of advertising campaigns for new eye products, before joining Nickelodeon in 2005.
A graduate of Wesleyan University, Ms. Woodruff holds a Bachelor's degree in European History. She earned her Masters of Business Administration, specializing in Finance and Marketing from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
