PBS Kids Sprout(SM) Puts 'Em to Sleep With Non-Stop 'Snooze-A-Thon' on Christmas Eve

Preschool Network's Alternative to the Television "Yule Log" Airs Uninterrupted for 11 Hours Beginning at 7:00 P.M. ET on December 24

Sprout Also to Debut Two U.S. Television Premiere Movies This Holiday Season

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- PBS KIDS Sprout, the first and only 24-hour preschool destination available on TV, on demand and online for kids ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers, is offering a unique solution this Christmas Eve for parents trying to get their little ones settled down and ready for bed.

From 7:00 p.m. ET on December 24 straight through to 6:00 a.m. ET Christmas morning, Sprout will air its first "Snooze-A-Thon," an 11-hour, uninterrupted block showcasing popular nighttime host Nina and her puppet sidekick Star from The Good Night Show(R) snoozing comfortably on the set. So, no matter what time of night the kids are up checking for the sound of reindeer hooves on the roof, parents can tune into Sprout to show them that even their favorite television friends are fast asleep waiting for Santa to arrive with their presents.

"Parents have told us that bedtime is the most challenging time of day, and getting children settled in on Christmas Eve can be even more difficult," said Andrew Beecham, senior vice president of programming for PBS KIDS Sprout. "We help parents wind down their kids each night with The Good Night Show, but wanted to do something unique with Nina and Star for this special night."

Sprout is kicking off the holiday season with two U.S. television movie premieres: Caillou's Holiday Movie from Cookie Jar Entertainment, which premieres on Wednesday, December 12 at 4:30 p.m. ET; and Bob the Builder: A Christmas to Remember from HIT Entertainment, which premieres on Tuesday, December 18 at 4:30 p.m. ET and features music from Elton John.
