New Monthly Survey Shows What Music America Is Listening to in Bars and Nightclubs
NEW YORK, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest songs from Grammy award-winner Alicia Keys and Chris Brown dominated music play in U.S. bars and nightclubs in November, according to the first Ecast BarPulse(TM) survey, which ranks plays of new music added each month to the Ecast broadband media network.
Ecast provides digital music to over 10,000 bars and nightclubs across the country. Each week, Ecast adds more than 1,000 tracks to its nationwide network. The new survey, to be released on or about the 15th of every month, shows the most popular song plays, nationwide, from that month's newly added content to the network.
Alicia Keys' debut song "No One" from her critically acclaimed third album "As I Am" and hip-hop/R & B crossover superstar Chris Brown's "Kiss Kiss" featuring T-Pain from his second album "Exclusive" were the number one and two songs respectively.

"BarPulse is designed to provide a snapshot of what Americans are listening to while they are out in bars and lounges," said Lisa Tiver, senior vice president, business affairs Ecast. "Ecast patrons represent a coveted demographic -- they are typically the young trendsetters who are largely responsible for getting artists up on the charts."
"Overall, hip hop and R&B dominated in November, with new releases from Alicia Keys, Chris Brown and Cassidy," said Paul Koehler, label relations manager, Ecast. "Another interesting highlight is the long-awaited U.S. release of Amy Winehouse's album "Frank" -- although it's not a complete surprise considering she was doing well on Ecast even before she broke through to mainstream audiences."
