MIDDER MUSIC Announces Nancy LaMott Double-Release; 2-Disc CD and the First- Ever DVD of Live Performances From This Beloved Cabaret Star; in Stores February 12, 2008

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Often hailed as the greatest cabaret performer since Frank Sinatra, the legendary Nancy LaMott continues to capture the attention and affection of all who hear her. This one-of-a-kind artist, who paved the way for performers such as Diana Krall, Michael Buble, and Norah Jones, was largely responsible for bringing the American Popular Standard style out of the cabaret and into the American mainstream prior to her death at age 43 in 1995. On February 12, 2008, MIDDER MUSIC will release two new products celebrating the triumphant life of this incredible woman and the music she made, music which is as fresh and inspired today as it was when first recorded.

The CD "Ask Me Again" is a 2-disc collection of rare, previously unreleased recordings with unplugged, no-frills arrangements. These recordings, most done live on radio or in one take in the studio with renowned accompanist/arranger Christopher Marlowe, set her compelling singing against a simple piano arrangement and showcase the fresh, brilliant interpretations of the standards and new classics which made her a beloved favorite throughout the US. Selections include the classics "You and I" and title track "Ask Me Again," a brilliant rendition of the contemporary favorite "Moondance," and her previously unreleased offering of the Christmas favorite "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Also featured is the live radio performance of "I Didn't Know What Time It Was," sung with great poignancy just 9 days before her death in 1995. This was the last song she ever sang.

The DVD "I'll Be Here with You" is undoubtedly one of the most exciting releases in years. For the first time ever, a visual collection of Nancy's live performances can be experienced. "I'll Be Here with You" chronicles her simple beginnings as a young girl belting out Liza Minelli tunes in San Francisco piano bars through lighting up the small theaters of New York in the mid-80's and her arrival in the major theaters and on national television shows of the early 90's.

Before their eyes viewers can see her, fresh and young, on "Another Mr. Right" and "Loud is Good," the first-ever performance of her David Friedman- penned signature song "Listen to My Heart," the title performance of "I'll Be Here with You" on Good Morning America, and her brilliant major appearances singing "Waters of March" at the Oak Room in the iconic Algonquin Hotel, "I'll Be Home for Christmas" on LIVE! With Regis & Kathie Lee, and "I'm Glad There is You/The Best is Yet to Come" on The Today Show. Few performances match the timeliness and deep emotion of her appearance on the Charles Grodin Show, where she made her last television appearance singing "Moon River" just 9 days before her death.

Like Eva Cassidy and Patsy Cline before her, Nancy's death was both an end and a beginning. Now 12 years following her passing there are still hundreds of thousands of fans eagerly awaiting these two inspired releases and the future releases of her recordings. For the many more who will soon know the thrill of discovering her anew, an introduction comparable to hearing Judy Garland for the first time awaits them. It is the devotion of these fans, old and new, that makes Nancy LaMott as relevant and timely today as she was during her lifetime.

These two remarkable releases of previously unavailable material, compiled and produced by David Friedman for MIDDER MUSIC and distributed by LML Music via the Allegro Corporation, mark a new chapter in the journey of Nancy LaMott's life and music. Beyond the mourning of her death there is the vigorous celebration of her life and legacy, a legacy that is captured and expressed in "Ask Me Again" and "I'll Be Here with You."
