Hard Rock's Charity Virtual-CD - SERVE2

Hard Rock's Charity Virtual-CD - SERVE2

Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Joss Stone, Citizen Cope and more donate unreleased tracks to aid in the fight against hunger and poverty.

NEW YORK, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital music companies, The Orchard and Blue Maze Entertainment have partnered to present a "Virtual-CD" for Hard Rock International's All-Star Charity CD Series - SERVE. This effort focuses on the 2nd installment of the Hard Rock's SERVE CD Series, aptly titled SERVE2. The album features previously unreleased tracks from some of music's most influential artists, including: Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Joss Stone, Citizen Cope, and KT Tunstall to name a few.

Hard Rock has remained true to its "Love All, Serve All" creed since the company's founding in 1971. All net proceeds from both physical album sales (at Hard Rock locations) and digital downloads from online retailers will help feed the hungry through an alliance with WHY (World Hunger Year). Earnings will be donated directly to Artists Against Hunger & Poverty - for which, Hard Rock has proudly raised more than $1 million dollars to date.

The patent-pending Virtual-CD is being featured on the Hard Rock web site at http://www.hardrock.com/Serve2.

The application will act as a sampler for the album; helping to showcase artists, songs, album artwork, and ultimately directing fans to e-commerce opportunities and additional information about the cause. Additionally, users can share Virtual-CD samplers with friends, helping to spread the music, generate buzz and drive sales.

By capitalizing on entertainment media platforms such as the Virtual-CD, and the celebrity of the participating artists, the contributing companies will be able to raise awareness and funds to help solve a global crisis. According to Mitch Towbin, Director of Marketing for Blue Maze Entertainment, "Virtual-CDs make it easy for companies like Hard Rock to create compelling online initiatives and support critical causes such as World Hunger Year. Hard Rock, WHY, and The Orchard all have progressive perspectives on music promotion, and we're excited to help them make a difference."
