Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano Calls for Extension of Border Patrol During Azteca America's Political Forum "Issues: Caras y Voces"

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Azteca America, the fastest-growing Hispanic television network in the United States, is proud to have hosted Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano on this Monday's broadcast of "Issues: Caras y Voces", a political forum hosted by veteran Latino journalist Armando Guzman.

Governor Napolitano, Arizona's third female governor, and the first female to win a re-election, made a plea to federal authorities to leave border patrol agents in place, citing positive results from the stepped-up campaign.

"I think they should leave them there for the time being, particularly until the virtual fences are operational, or until they are able to hire more border patrol," said Governor Napolitano. "The kind of parade of horrors about the militarization of the border didn't occur. And it's been a good project. So I'm kind of puzzled and I say to myself; why (is it that) the one thing of the border that actually (is working) -- it's been good all last year -- now you are stopping it or reducing it."

"Issues: Caras y Voces" features top leaders that impact the Hispanic community through one-on-one interviews conducted by Armando Guzman. Covering the White House and the Capitol for almost two decades, Mr. Guzman is one of the most respected correspondents in Washington. The interview forum airs every Monday evening during Noticiero Azteca America, the network news broadcast of Azteca America.

Past guests of "Issues: Caras y Voces" include: New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL), Congressman Xavier Becerra (D-CA), Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

Don't Miss "Issues: Caras y Voces" Mondays during the transmission of Noticiero Azteca America, at 11:00 pm EST and PST / 10:00 pm CST.

Webcast repetitions are available at http://www.aztecaamerica.com/coporate and at http://www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org/.

The forum is also broadcast in Mexico on Proyecto 40.
