Job Seekers Continue to Shift Towards the Internet, The Conference Board Reports
The Conference Board says job seekers are steadily increasing their use of the internet as a key part of their job search. In the most recent survey of workers who searched for a job between January and September 2007, 73 percent reported using the internet compared to 66 percent of job seekers in the same time period in 2005.
Most job seekers continue to use more than one method in searching for a job. Online and print ads were not mutually exclusive and are still the most frequently used methods of exploring job openings. However, over half of job seekers reported networking through friends and colleagues as part of their job search. About one quarter responded that they used other methods, such as employment agencies.

Nissan to Introduce World's First Around View Monitor
Nissan Motor Company will introduce the world's first Around View Monitor, which offers the driver a bird's eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings in real-time. In Japan, the Around View Monitor will debut in the new Elgrand, scheduled for introduction at the end of this month. The technology will also be offered to the U-S market on the all new Infiniti E-X-35 scheduled for launch this December.
The Around View Monitor system sythesizes a bird's eye image of the vehicle and its surrounding from four ultrawide-angle high-resolution cameras mounted on the front, sides and rear of the vehicle. The Around View Monitor is particularly helpful when parking, enabling the driver to steer easily and precisely into a parking space.

Captain Jack Sparrow and Catwoman Lead Fandango's List of Top Movie-Related Halloween Costumes
Johnny Depp and Halle Berry have something in common this Halloween: Fandango says their characters are the fans' top inspirations for movie-related Halloween costumes.
Fandango asked thousands of movie fans to rank the costumes they're most likely to wear this year, and the results are surprising. According to the survey, 70 percent of the respondents said that they plan to wear movie-inspired costumes this Halloween.
"Pirates"' Captain Jack captured the top spot for favorite male movie-related costume, but Spider-Man, Dracula, Batman and Harry Potter were not far behind. Interestingly, "Star Wars" protagonist Luke Skywalker did not crack the Top Ten, whereas nemesis Darth Vader did make the cut.
