OnSite Network, Inc. Completes Capital-Raising Round, Aims to Enter New Markets
Out-of-Home Network Has Sights on a Bar, Cafe or Waiting Room Near You
CHICAGO, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- OnSite Network, Inc. (OSN), a full-feature advertising, marketing and entertainment digital media company, announced today that it raised over $5 million through a sale of its common stock. The company will invest these funds primarily in marketing strategies and efforts to increase the Network's product sales and reach.
Chicago-based OSN currently has over 125 LCD HDTV screens delivering targeted content and advertising in fine sports bars and restaurant venues in Chicago, New York City, Atlanta, St. Louis, Minneapolis and Orlando. OSN also has license agreements with several hundred other venues joining the Network. OnSite Network's system provides simultaneous, targeted content display connected using its proprietary technology. Installation and servicing of the Network is performed by IBM.
Executive vice president Kevin Owens said, "The technology essentially establishes an electronic fence around the commercial television portion of the OSN screen. Within that electronic fence there is no manipulation, no covering up, no substitution of pixels, or any editing of any kind of the commercial television feed. Most important, the venue chooses the commercial television programming it wants to show and has always shown to its customers. There is no change in customer viewing habits.
"At the same time, using the unique Internet address assigned to each affiliated Venue, OSN provides highly localized content and information on a bottom and right-side banner. These banners are located outside the electronic fence. Venues have reported that their customers prefer the presentation on OSN screens to screens carrying only television shows."
The OSN Internet feed content is venue-specific. It features messaging and branding for the Affiliate's marketing program, along with targeted content, advertising and public service messages. Whether the viewer is in a sports bar, a hospital waiting room or a college cafeteria, the OSN content is designed to enhance the viewer experience and maintain the viewers' attention on the screen.
Advertisers can purchase air-time in one location or on the entire network. Current advertisers include major beer and liquor companies, resorts, tourism agencies and local advertisers such as automobile dealers and real estate offices reaching their neighborhood market by purchasing time in specific venues within their market area. And, while OSN content and ads are seen right along with the commercial television programming, they cost only a fraction of the cost of regular TV ads.
