Detroit Ranks Next to Last in Survey of Best Football Tailgating Cities


KVH Industries, DIRECTV and Professional Tailgaters Measure 'Tailgating-
friendliness' of 31 NFL Cities plus L.A.

WHAT: After analyzing stadium parking lots, overall tailgating
environment, fan enthusiasm and the sales of tailgating
accessories like in-car live TV and mobile programming, an
alliance of tailgating experts has released for the first time
America's Best Football Tailgating Cities Index, a ranking of
the "tailgating-friendliness" of the 31 U.S. cities with NFL
teams, plus L.A.

The Index is a joint effort of KVH Industries, the leading
manufacturer of live mobile TV systems for cars, RVs and boats;
DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite television service
provider; and various tailgating experts who have personally
visited and ranked every NFL stadium, including

LOCAL
INTEREST: Detroit was ranked 31st in pre- and post-game tailgating out of
31 U.S. cities evaluated with an NFL franchise, plus NFL-hopeful
L.A.

Baltimore was ranked the best football tailgating city, with
Denver, Houston, San Diego, Cincinnati, Miami, Tampa, Fla.,
Kansas City, Buffalo, N.Y., Philadelphia and Phoenix (tied for
