Lifetime's Popular Supernatural Series, 'Blood Ties', Returns for Second Season with Even More Bite, Beginning Friday, October 12

Ten New Episodes To Air Fridays At 11pm ET/PT

Series To Follow Lifetime's New Friday Night Reality Programming Block Featuring the Return of 'Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead' and the Premiere of the New Competition Series, 'America's Psychic Challenge'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Vampires sink their teeth into television with the launch of several new vampire-themed series this fall, proving that popularity for the genre to be as strong as ever. Lifetime Television continues to be ahead of curve, having introduced audiences to private investigator Vicki Nelson and her partner, vampire Henry Fitzroy, this past March with the supernatural series, "Blood Ties." Now, returning for a second season, the first of ten all-new episodes premieres Friday, October 12 at 11pm ET/PT. "Blood Ties" joins Lifetime's new Friday night programming line-up, featuring new episodes of the Lifetime Original Reality Series "Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead" and the new Lifetime Original Reality Competition Series, "America's Psychic Challenge."

Last season, Lifetime entered the mystical world with "Blood Ties," a drama series starring Christina Cox ("The Chronicles of Riddick") as Vicki, a private investigator specializing in solving supernatural crimes, who joins in an unexpected partnership with Henry (Kyle Schmid, "Beautiful People"), a mysterious and sexy vampire who is a descendant of Henry VIII. Based on Tanya Huff's best-selling novels, The Blood Books, the series also stars Dylan Neal ("JAG") as Vicki's ex-partner and ex-lover Mike, and Gina Holden ("Flash Gordon") as Coreen, Vicki's office assistant.

This season, Vicki discovers her life has become even more complicated as she takes on cases involving a spirit who hires her to find out how he died and another investigation where people can change shapes into animals. Vicki also gives Coreen the opportunity to get more involved in field work and takes her undercover on a case surrounding the death of a young man whose body is ravaged by bugs. Meanwhile, Henry discovers there may be another vampire hunting in his territory while Mike finds his position with the police force further jeopardized by his connection to Vicki. The season also features guest-star Danny Trejo ("Sin City 2") as an ancient mummy brought back to life.

The series is executive produced by Randy Zalken ("Under the Mistletoe"), Kirk Shaw ("Battle in Seattle"), Marshall Kesten ("Air Master") and Peter Mohan ("Mutant X") who also serves as the show runner. "Blood Ties" is produced by Mark Winemaker ("Path to 9/11") and Paul McConvey ("Look-a-Like"). The series is produced by Insight Film Studios Ltd. and Kaleidoscope Entertainment Inc. for Lifetime Television. It is also produced and developed in association with CHUM Television.
