Legendary Singer Joins the BSO at Strathmore for Valentine's Day Concert
ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept 26 /PRNewswire/ -- HarVest Bank of Maryland, a locally owned, full service commercial bank headquartered in Rockville, MD, today announced its sponsorship of Art Garfunkel with the BSO on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2008, at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD. The concert marks the third consecutive year that HarVest Bank of Maryland has provided concert title support to the BSO at Strathmore, with earlier concerts featuring the BSO performing works by Gershwin, Copland and Vivaldi.
"We are delighted to announce our continuing support of the BSO at Strathmore, and look forward to greeting our Maryland neighbors for the Art Garfunkel Concert on Valentine's Day," commented Jack Hollerbach, President & CEO of HarVest and a Board Member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. "Our support of artistic, medical, education and business initiatives in our community has been an integral part of our success to date. Rolling up our sleeves and being involved in these worthy endeavors is what sets us apart from the enormous out of state banks that clutter the landscape with endless advertising. That's what we mean by our motto, HarVest Bank of Maryland is "Bringing Maryland Banking Back Home(tm)"
The Bank has been nominated for several community awards involving sponsorship of the arts in its home market of Montgomery County, MD, and was named the 2006 Small Business of the Year by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce for its community involvement. In 2005, as the new state of the art Strathmore facility opened to the public, HarVest was the first corporate sponsor of the BSO at its new second home, and took the lead in developing the BSO Business Partners, an arts oriented business networking group, in addition to its concert sponsorships.
HarVest Bank of Maryland opened for business in late 2004, and has grown to $129 Million in assets as of August 31, 2007. HarVest operates three full service branches at 9707 Medical Center Drive in North Rockville, MD, at 12800 Middlebrook Road in Germantown, and at 7908 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda, MD and plans to open a fourth branch in mid-2008. The Bank's headquarters are located at 15005 Shady Grove Road, Suite 400, Rockville, MD.
