Internationally Famous Ghost Town Gunfighters Led by the Apache Kid Perform in Wild West Days
MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- North Carolina's mountaintop family destination, Ghost Town in the Sky, brings to life Wild West Days throughout November with gunfights by the Internationally Famous Ghost Town Gunfighters. Crowd-favorite Robert Bradley, a Cherokee half-breed Indian known as "The Apache Kid," leads the action. His performance includes taking two shots from a double-barrel shotgun and falling to the gravel street with a backward flip to his "death."

"When I hit the ground, I don't feel anything," said Bradley, "I just wonder if the stunt looked real."
In 1961, at the tender age of 17, Bradley began his career at North Carolina's mountaintop theme park alongside a host of TV and movie stars -- including, Dan Blocker, Tony Dow, Clint Walker, Darby Hinton and Burt Reynolds -- who came to Ghost Town for guest appearances during the 1960s.
Bradley's first film experience came last fall when he starred in Dean Teaster's Ghost Town "The Movie." His soulful performance as Jim Jumper in the western feature has drawn rave reviews. His roof top fall after being shot in the film's gun battle finale reprises the famous stunt he has done as well as street death falls an estimated 27,300 times in his years at Ghost Town.
In addition to being a fan-favorite performer, Bradley also serves as Ghost Town's Director of Gunfights. "He literally grew up as a gunfighter on our Main Street," said J.B. Buccafusco, the park's Director of Entertainment. "He kept the integrity of the characters from years past and ensured the authenticity of the gunfight action with our new breed of wild west pistoleers."
Ghost Town in the Sky is North Carolina's family destination that takes visitors back in time to enjoy authentic western town settings with rides, music, dancing, saloon shows and gunfights.
Dean Teaster's Ghost Town "The Movie" was written around the theme park and its famous wild west gunfights. Next season Ghost Town in the Sky will see the opening of the Cliff Hanger Roller Coaster and the longest cog rail incline system taking visitors 75-degrees up the side of the mountain and back to the wild west days. Ghost Town in the Sky is open May through November.
