Galaxy Theatres Porterville Named 2007 Outstanding Business Honoree
PORTERVILLE, Calif., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Galaxy Theaters 9 has been named as an Outstanding Business Honoree for 2007 by the City of Porterville, Calif. The innovative, digital movie theatre company was chosen based on its significant growth, proven longevity and community support in Porterville.
Galaxy Theatres first opened for business with eight stadium seat auditoriums in 1998. In 1999 Galaxy added a ninth auditorium, which features the largest movie screen in Tulare County. The management and staff of the Galaxy 9 are actively involved on the community. Partnering with the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, the Theatre hosts First Friday coffee events and holds workshops and morning meetings in its auditoriums. Galaxy is a participant in the annual Iris Festival and has hosted gala community events which include the premiere of "The Last Best Sunday," a major motion picture filmed in Porterville.
