Who: Common is a hip-hop recording artist, actor, author and
entrepreneur. His 1992 debut album was "Can I Borrow a Dollar?" but
it was his fourth album, "Like Water for Chocolate," in 2000 that
earned him crucial acclaim. Common won a Grammy Award in 2003 for
his collaboration on "Love of My Life" with Erykah Badu and was
nominated four times for Grammy Awards in 2006. He made his acting
debut in January 2007 co-starring with Jeremy Piven, Ben Affleck and
Ray Liotta in "Smokin' Aces." Common is also an activist for KNOW
