America to Help Choose Finalists in Third Annual 'Oreo & Milk Jingle' Contest
10 Groups Vie For Trip to New York City for Chance To Appear on a Times Square Super Sign, Join Carson Daly and Win $10,000
EAST HANOVER, N.J., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- America can now help boost a favorite group to fame and fortune! Ten groups of family and friends from across the country were recently selected as semi-finalists in the third annual "Oreo & Milk Jingle" contest and now have the chance to experience the 'ultimate moment' -- performing their rendition of the jingle in New York City's Times Square for the chance to win a $10,000 grand prize.
The groups' performances are now posted on http://www.oreo.com/, where visitors can log on to select their favorite rendition from now through Sept. 4, 2007. Additionally, every person who logs on to cast a vote also can enter into a sweepstakes for the chance to win $5,000 and join Daly and the five finalist groups in Time Square for the finale competition.
The top five groups will each receive $1,000 and a trip to New York City to perform in the finale event hosted by NBC late night talk show host and New Year's Eve "Times Square commentator," Carson Daly. The finalist groups' performances will be broadcast on a Times Square Super Sign, they'll get to meet Daly and the grand prize-winning group will receive $10,000!

From bluegrass to a cappella, the 10 semi-finalist groups bring unique personalities and creative performances to the "Oreo & Milk Jingle" contest.
-- An Oreo Spelling Bee (Los Angeles, Calif.). These friends, ranging from
55 years old to 91 years old - Nancy Babbitt, Carolyn Bernesser, Margie
Bowyer, Eleanor Howard, Peggy Mollin, Eddie O'Brien, Adrienne Omansky,
Marlene Riffer, Evelyn Rosenwein, Laurel Shapiro, Gloria Schwartz,
Larry Soronen, Maria Stein, and Moty Zahavi -- entered a rendition that
takes the form of a spelling bee as they break into song when asked to
spell O-R-E-O.
-- Coastal Condition (Los Angeles, Calif.). Genevieve Artadi (25), Jessica
Freedman (20), Katharine Hoye (22) and Michael Kohl (23) put together
an energetic jazz rendition of the classic jingle.
-- Creme Filling (Rush City, Minn.). Husband and wife duo, Kolette Lind
(32) and John Lind (38) submitted a rendition with a rock and roll
kick.
-- Ferndale Friends (Ferndale, Mich.). Debra Dworkin (35), Eric Franz
(38), Matt Horn (43), Hal Levine (46), Marc Meyers (42), Ryan Moore
(31) and Suzette Shuller (37) sang the jingle with "synchronized,
rhythmic cup passing."
-- Kreamy Krunchies (Rexburg, Idaho). These four friends - Ryan Carroll
(26), Hyrum Denney (25), David Geddes (24) and Shaun Heier (29) -
perform an upbeat, catchy blend of a cappella harmony.
-- Samantha Casey & The Bluegrass Jam (Pine Level, N.C.). Daniel (45) and
Samantha Casey (11), a father-daughter duo, sing, strum and play the
fiddle to create a bluegrass take on the jingle.
-- The Oreo Swim Team (Graham, Texas). Dressed as Oreo cookies, cousins
Jana Horn (14), Kevin Horn (11), Amy Stamper (15) and Sarah Stamper
(19) sing the jingle as part of a synchronized swimming routine.
-- The Wild Orchards (Santa Cruz, Calif.). Nine students - Melissa Crowley
(11), Erin Gudger (12), Katlyn Kronschnabl (12), Lulu Morell-Haltom
(13), Ruby Nink (12), Saige Portera (11), Jade Young Weaver (7), Zohar
Wouk (12), and Amber Zeise (12) - performed the "Oreo & Milk Jingle"
with a circus theme.
-- Vox5 (Fairview, Tenn.). Michael Allen (28), Patrick Day (29) and Jeremy
Long (27) sing a radio-friendly a capella rendition.
-- Kychn Synch (Liberty, Mo.), Rodney Ames (17), Sam King (18), Matt
Messina (17), Gabe Munoz (17), Nick Pallo (18) and Zach Tyler (16)
performed the jingle a capella.
About the Contest
The "Oreo & Milk Jingle" contest invited small groups of family or friends (2-15 people) to get creative with their performance of the classic Oreo jingle. Semi-finalist groups were selected based on group dynamics and enthusiasm, appropriateness to the Oreo image, creativity of performance and vocal ability.
