Tennessee Wildlife Agency Follows Governor's Lead to Expand Conservation Awareness with MyOutdoorTV.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tennessee's Wildlife Resources Agency is following the lead of Governor Phil Bredesen to increase conservation awareness by partnering with MyOutdoorTV.com to offer their weekly television series and webcast to a broader audience. Beginning today, the award-winning Tennessee's Wild Side and Tennessee's Wild Side Weekly Online will be streamed through MyOutdoorTV.com, the world's largest internet video network for outdoor television shows, radio, video, and conservation information.

Based in Nashville, MyOutdoorTV.com is a powerful new forum developed to promote hunting, fishing, wildlife watching, and natural resource opportunities across the country. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) joins MyOutdoorTV.com in its launch of a special section within the site called "State Explorer," which will provide video from various states and links to each state wildlife agency. The section will include weekly programming, educational videos, safety instruction, wildlife and waterways law enforcement information, and other useful materials. Hunters, fishermen, and boaters will even be able to purchase licenses through MyOutdoorTV.com or make donations to the Wildlife Resources Agency.

Conservation has been one of the stated key priorities of Gov. Bredesen's administration, with such notable conservation efforts as acquiring and protecting land with high conservation value, establishing the Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund, reopening previously closed state parks, and speaking often on the need to conserve the state's natural resources. He has received awards from environmental groups for his actions to conserve and promote Tennessee's natural beauty.

Shows and materials provided by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will also be included and available for search from topical sections on the MyOutdoorTV.com site, such as deer and turkey hunting, hiking, camping, bass and walleye fishing, and wild game cooking. Users of MyOutdoorTV.com will be able to view current as well as previous episodes of Tennessee's Wild Side and Wild Side Weekly Online.

The show and webcast are hosted by radio personality Bill Cody and Janet Ivey. The TV show has been awarded two Emmys for "Best Magazine Show" and currently airs weekly on PBS in Tennessee and Kentucky, with shows covering outdoor activities for the entire family. The new affiliation with MyOutdoorTV.com will allow on-demand viewing worldwide by anyone with a high- speed internet connection.

"As a long-time Tennessee resident, I'm pleased that my state is one of the first to recognize the opportunity to show the rest of the country and the world what the state's natural resources have to offer," said David Hall, co- founder of MyOutdoorTV.com. "This partnership holds great possibilities for Tennessee and is both exciting and gratifying for MyOutdoorTV.com."

MyOutdoorTV.com will include Tennessee's affiliation in marketing activities for the site, including TV, radio, print, and online advertising and promotions. TWRA will provide a link on its website to view programming at MyOutdoorTV.com.

"We're especially pleased to be working with a Tennessee-based business with such a strong management team and solid business plan," commented Don King, TWRA's Chief of Information and Education. "We are very proud of Tennessee's Wild Side and its great programming of family-oriented activities, and we're excited to expand our audience through this partnership with MyOutdoorTV.com."

MyOutdoorTV.com is the world's largest internet video network for outdoor TV programming, currently streaming over 70 shows on the shooting sports, fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. In addition, it hosts radio shows, outdoor videos, and the new "State Explorer" section. For more information, visit www.MyOutdoorTV.com.
