Indian Ocean Kicks Off Their Fourth US Tour!

India's Fantastic Foursome Will Tour Coast to Coast This Summer!

NEW YORK, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Indian Ocean, India's premiere rock band, is heading back to the US for their fourth tour! This quartet from Delhi's US fan base has grown significantly over the past few years, creating a larger demand each time they head across the ocean. This time, their tour, which kicks off in Hayward, California on July 14th, will stretch from California to Texas to Connecticut.

Over the last seventeen years, this quartet from Delhi has attracted a huge following for its superb performance of original music that ranges from rocking political anthems to meditative spiritual ballads. The band's lyrics celebrate individual journeys to transform the self as well as collective struggles to change the world. These songs of liberation and redemption combine memorable melodies with compelling rhythms that bring audiences to their feet even as they inspire the mind and soul.

Indian Ocean is known for its electrifying performances all over India and abroad. They have performed over 200 concerts in major Indian cities, at venues including college campuses and formal auditoria, for festivals and corporate events as well as benefits and fundraisers for activist and philanthropic groups. They have performed in venues in Scotland, UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Germany.

Indian Ocean is comprised of four musicians, Susmit Sen (guitar and vocals), Asheem Chakravarty (tabla, other percussion and vocals), Rahul Ram (bass guitar and vocals) and Amit Kilam (drums, gabgubi, other percussion, recorder and vocals). Over the course of their outstanding career, they have released five albums: Indian Ocean (1993), Desert Rain (1997), Kandisa (2000) and Jhini (2003), and the Original Sound Track for the feature film Black Friday (2005). Desert Rain reached number 7 on the UK iTunes World Music list and the track Bandeh from Black Friday reached #2 on the film charts! They are currently working on a new album that will be released soon.
