WEGENER(R) Showcases Cable Headend Product Lines at 2008 Cable Tec Expo

DULUTH, Ga., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of products for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced it will be exhibiting in booth 1635 at the 2008 Cable Tec Expo, Orlando - Florida. WEGENER will showcase its solutions to receive and multiplex local broadcast TV and cable programming in small and mid-sized cable headends.

WEGENER's cable headend solutions include WEGENER's DTV 700 series of digital TV signal processors. The DTV 700 series enables video headend operators to quickly repackage local off-air broadcast HDTV signals and ASI streams from satellite receivers into new streams. The DTV 720's optional ASI or Gigibit Ethernet outputs provide flexibility to support a variety of headend environments.

Additionally, WEGENER will showcase its range of satellite receivers for SD and HD programming. These receivers are specifically designed to meet the needs of professional media networks. Models include the Unity 4600, iPump 6400 and Unity 550-2. WEGENER receivers support COMPEL(R) encryption and network control of cable programming for both analog and digital headends.
