A Cinderella Story at the 2007 Emmy(R) Awards: Its JerryTime! Wins First-Ever Emmy(R) for Video Blog

LOS ANGELES, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- An offbeat, no-budget animated Web series called Its JerryTime! (http://www.itsjerrytime.com/ ) was awarded an Emmy at the 34th Annual Creative Arts & Entertainment Daytime Emmy(R) Awards, presented on Thursday, June 14 at a black-tie gala at Hollywood's Hollywood and Highland Ballroom.

For Its JerryTime! this was its second Emmy nomination in a row, losing in the 2006 Emmys to the historic Web event AOL LIVE 8 in the Emmys first-ever broadband awards competition.

This year, the laconic Web presence beat the odds and received the Emmy nomination again. Then Its JerryTime! scored an unlikely victory in the Broadband Variety category, winning against big time competition: Guiding Light's 70th Anniversary Celebration, Procter and Gamble Productions; Dexter Blood Spatter 101, Showtime; Icons of Science Quantum Theory, Discovery Education; The Extreme Diet Coke and Mentos Experiments, EepyBird.

This achievement marked Its JerryTime! as the first video blog to ever win an Emmy(R) Award.

The humorous Web series is created solely by two Buffalo-born brothers Orrin and Jerry Zucker (not from the movie AIRPLANE!) of Ozone Inc., (http://www.ozonetvdesign.com/ ) a Boston-based broadcast design company. The animated episodes tell the, "true tales from the life of Jerry," an everyman whose life is just a bit harder than it should be.

The semi-autobiographical Web series is written and narrated by Jerry Zucker who also plays the original rag time piano track. Orrin Zucker animates and directs the series.
