The Tattoo Parlor is Open; MIAMI INK Returns for a Third Season on June 12th
The search for Kat Von D's replacement is in full swing
SILVER SPRING, Md., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 12th at 10:00 PM ET/PT, the third season of TLC's highly rated and youngest skewing show, MIAMI INK returns with all new adventures, customers and the stories behind the tattoos. Picking up where season two left off, we find the business booming and artists Ami James, Chris Nunez, Darren Brass, Chris Garver and Yoji Harada rejuvenated. They're also dealing with intense personal issues and coming to terms with the dramatic departure of artist Kat Von D. Needing to fill the void created when Kat left; the artists at Miami Ink begin the difficult search for a replacement, giving week-long residencies to various artists from around the world in hopes of filling her shoes.
With tattoos now considered mainstream, more and more people are flocking to the shop to get ink from one of these world famous artists. This season will include some very interesting characters including a blind actor, Satanist, Vampire, a man attempting to grow the world's longest beard, an 80- year-old woman getting her first tattoo and a client who gives Ami free reign to tattoo anything he wants on his arm. Additionally, a couple of the guys venture out of the shop for a trip to Vegas to tattoo a few new friends and attend a party at Jet at the Mirage Las Vegas Hotel & Casino thrown in their honor.
While the guys are stoked to put their talents to the test and take on more work, they battle to keep sane and healthy, relying on each other more than ever before. Darren Brass has not had an easy few months. His marriage has fallen apart and he's in the middle of a divorce. At the same time, while he has lived with diabetes almost all of his life, Darren's blood sugar levels have dropped to seriously low levels and he is starting to lose his temper on a regular basis. Darren's current mental and physical states worry the boys and they help him get healthy.
Last season, Ami James & Chris Nunez opened a lounge on South Beach called Love/Hate. Since it opened, Love/Hate has become one of the hottest spots on the beach, pulling Ami & Chris away from the tattoo shop more often than they expected. Darren and Garver pick up more clients to ease the stress on the budding moguls, but to ease the burden of running two successful business Ami & Chris hire a bar manager to run the day to day activities at Love/Hat. Meanwhile, Yoji is still juggling his marriage, being a father, practicing to become a better tattoo artist and trying to get his rock band off the ground, while Garver pushes himself to great lengths to become an even better artist.
MIAMI INK is produced by Original Media for TLC. Charlie Corwin is the executive producer for Original Media and Christo Doyle is the executive producer for TLC.
