State Fair Meadowlands Invites Environmental Groups to Create 'Green Fair' for U.S. Live Earth Concert

BELLEVILLE, N.J., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- State Fair Meadowlands at Giants Stadium Fairgrounds is inviting environmental groups throughout the country to create a "Green Fair" by offering free and discounted exhibition space to non- profit green energy organizations and renewable energy companies. All are welcome to come for the entire 18 days, June 21 through July 8, or for the day(s) of their choosing, including July 7, the day of the only U.S. Live Earth concert, being held at Giants Stadium in NJ.

In an unprecedented move, State Fair Meadowlands will be open and offering free admission to only Live Earth ticket holders on the day of the concert -- a day that Fair and concert organizers hope will spotlight the global warming crisis. Live Earth will use the global reach of music to engage people on a mass scale to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth will bring together more than 150 of the world's top musicians for 24 hours of music, from seven concerts across all seven continents.

"We are working closely with Live Earth organizers to create the most environmentally friendly State Fair Meadowlands in our history," says Al Dorso, President of State Fair Meadowlands. "As part of this effort, we want to create a 'fair within the fair' to help spotlight the work of renewable energy companies and non-profit groups. In addition, in the weeks ahead we will also announce a comprehensive effort to reduce the environmental impact of the Fair."
