PHILADELPHIA, May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIVOO(TM) Holdings, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: SIVO.PK), operator of the first Internet TV network of multicultural on-demand entertainment programming, today announced the availability of three SIVOO-branded channels on Joost(TM), the world's first broadcast-quality Internet television service.
Under the terms of the agreement, SIVOO will initially provide Joost with 25 hours of professionally-produced Chinese, Hindi and Spanish language entertainment programming, including popular full-length movies, Bollywood films, telenovelas and TV episodes in all three languages. To ensure that consumers have access to new multicultural content, SIVOO will refresh the selection each month with 10 hours of new entertainment programming in each language. All of SIVOO's content will be available free to consumers on an on- demand basis and can be accessed through any Web browser.
"We're excited to be a premier multicultural content partner for Joost in the U.S.," said Daniel Leon, SIVOO's vice president of content and business development. "The Internet is home to diverse ethnic populations that have strong preferences for programming in their native languages. SIVOO remains committed to acquiring the best multicultural entertainment content - in the most popular languages - to provide consumers with the best online viewing experience."
United States' Population Increasingly Diverse
According to the 2000 U.S. Census(1), approximately 30 percent of the population belongs to a racial or ethnic minority group, a percentage that is expected to grow significantly over time. The data shows that more than 10 million individuals - or 3.6 percent of the U.S. population - identify themselves as Asian-American. In addition, more than 37 million people identified themselves as Hispanic Americans, representing approximately 13 percent of the U.S. population.
Yvette Alberdingk Thijm, executive vice president of content strategy and acquisition for Joost, said, "The Joost platform is an entertainment destination for people from diverse backgrounds to enjoy high-quality programming that appeals to them. With its wide selection of high-quality foreign-language programming from top producers worldwide, SIVOO is an ideal multicultural content partner."
Joost combines the best of TV and the best of the Internet by offering viewers a unique, TV-like experience enhanced with the choice, control and flexibility of Web 2.0. Joost is the first online, global TV distribution platform, bringing together advertisers, content owners and viewers in an interactive, community-driven environment.
