LAS VEGAS, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Rock royalty took the stage by storm performing songs that made a whole generation turn the volume up -- way up. Hosted by Bam Margera the second annual "VH1 Rock Honors," honored the music and influence of Genesis, Heart, Ozzy Osbourne and ZZ Top with tribute performances by Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Nickelback, Gretchen Wilson and Keane. Cameron Diaz, Jada Pinkett Smith, Billy Bob Thornton, Robin Williams, Criss Angel and Taylor Hawkins made special appearances as they paid tribute to the legends that influenced the sound of rock.
Taped at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 12, "VH1 Rock Honors," premiers Thursday, May 24 at 9PM* on VH1, VH1 Classic and MHD. The show saluted the groundbreaking bands of rock, the once in a lifetime events and the influential people who made a lasting mark on the history of rock. The influence of these honorees was felt through spoken tributes, filmed packages and performances by some of today's hottest rock acts as well as the legends themselves. All ticket proceeds from the show and post party will benefit VH1 Save The Music.
