Gather the Flock for Animal Planet's Big Movie Night

-- A tiny mouse with a big personality kicks off "Animal Planet at the Movies" --

One of the smallest creatures in the animal kingdom launches Animal Planet's new big night at the movies. Families will be scurrying to their couches to watch a little mouse and his big adventures for the network premiere of Stuart Little as Animal Planet kicks- off ANIMAL PLANET AT THE MOVIES on Saturday, May 19 from 7-9 PM (ET/PT). For the first time ever, the network brings theatrical films to the small screen every week with ANIMAL PLANET AT THE MOVIES, an evening feature-film presentation showcasing the best animal flicks and the greatest animal stars from all over the world. Movies will also repeat the Thursday following the original airdate from 8-10 PM (ET/PT).

"There's something about the movies, and animal themed movies in particular, that captivates audiences and brings families together," says Marjorie Kaplan, President and General Manager Animal Planet Media and Discovery Kids Media. "Grab your cat, make room for the kids and your dog, and settle in with us for a great animal movie every Saturday night."

ANIMAL PLANET AT THE MOVIES includes a broad range of films like "Fly Away Home" to "Winged Migration." The first four movies that will be part of the night are:

STUART LITTLE

When the Little's go to an orphanage to adopt a new family member, their son, George, insists on a little brother as opposed to a big one. His request is honored more literally than he ever imagined when a charming young mouse named Stuart is chosen. While George is disappointed and initially unwelcoming to his new brother, the family cat, Snowbell, is even less enthusiastic at the prospect of having a mouse as his "master" and plots to get rid of him. Against these difficulties, Stuart resolves to face them with as much pluck, love and courage as he can muster. In doing so, he shows his beloved new family that great things can truly come in small packages.

AIR BUD

12-year-old Josh Framm moves with his family to the small town of Fernfield, Washington after the untimely death of his father. Since he is new in town, Josh has no friends and is too shy to try out for the school basketball team. While practicing on an abandoned court, he becomes friends with a golden retriever named Buddy, and discovers that the dog can sink baskets like a pro.

Following in the paws of the popular and beloved "AIR BUD" series, this hilarious and heartwarming all-new adventure is sure to become a family favorite. School's out for the summer and Andrea Framm's best friend, Tammy, is moving out of town. To make new friends she and Buddy join the local volleyball team. Meanwhile, mysterious crimes have been perplexing their hometown and all the paw prints seem to point to Buddy. Can Buddy lead authorities to the real perpetrator?

HOMEWARD BOUND: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY

This story begins with the marriage of Laura and Bob. The whole family is present: Laura's three children and the children's three pets: Shadow, Chance and Sassy. However, the happiness is short-lived; as we learn that the family must pack up and leave their home in Fresno to move to an apartment in San Francisco, while Bob finishes a research project. Even more depressing is the news that the entire family can't come; Shadow, Chance and Sassy will have to stay at their friend Kate's ranch. Overcome with homesickness, Shadow, Sassy and Chance set out across the Sierra Nevada Mountains in search of home. As their trek progresses, their journey becomes an emotional one, as well as physical, as they come to rely on their wits and each other in order to survive in the wilderness.
