'Dave Koz at the Movies' Premieres on PBS This Summer

Television Event Features Guests From Koz's Latest Album, Including Anita Baker, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis and Vanessa Williams

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, PBS will premiere "Dave Koz At The Movies," a television event capturing a lush, inspired collection of timeless movie themes performed by renowned pop artist Koz with guests Anita Baker ("Somewhere," West Side Story), Barry Manilow ("Moon River," Breakfast At Tiffany's), Johnny Mathis ("The Shadow Of Your Smile Love Theme from The Sandpiper") and Vanessa Williams ("The Way We Were" from the film of the same name). The program will air in the following markets as part of the local PBS stations' nationwide June pledge campaigns:

6/1, 2, & 7 Atlanta, GA Atlanta PBS (hosted by Dave Koz)
6/4 Maryland/DC Maryland Public TV -- MPT (hosted by Dave Koz)
6/5 Detroit, MI Detroit Public TV -- WTVS
6/12 Tampa, FL WEDU PBS TV (hosted by Dave Koz)

Viewers will need to check their local TV listings for program broadcast dates and times or can contact their local public broadcasting stations for local airing information. The program, "Dave Koz At The Movies," is being distributed by NETA and will air on local PBS stations all across the U.S. The pledge special premieres June 1st, with additional program airings scheduled throughout the summer in June, July and August.

Along with the guest vocalists, the program also includes stunning instrumentals of some of the most classic movie songs of our time including "The Pink Panther" from the film of same name, "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca, "Over The Rainbow" from The Wizard Of Oz and "The Summer Knows" from Summer of '42.

"It's kind of a dream-come-true project, performing these classic film melodies with great guest artists," says Koz.

It was Koz's vision that attracted the stellar group of vocalists to the endeavor. Recalls Manilow, "Who doesn't know Henry Mancini's 'Moon River?' I was delightfully surprised that Dave had figured out a very hip way of rendering 'Moon River.'"

The music can also be found on Koz's accompanying At The Movies CD, which was released earlier this year. At The Movies is the 8th studio album for the platinum-selling Koz, who has also garnered four Grammy(R) nominations. Koz will take these classic film compositions on the road with the Dave Koz and Friends At The Movies Summer 2007 Tour, which launches June 3rd and features special guests David Benoit, Phil Perry and Kelly Sweet.
