China Grentech Corporation Limited Announces First Bulk Production Order To Supply TD-SCDMA RF Power Amplifier Modules

SHENZHEN, China, May 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China GrenTech Corporation Limited (Nasdaq: GRRF, ''the Company'' or ''GrenTech''), a leading China-based wireless coverage products and services provider and radio frequency (''RF'') technology developer, today announced that it has signed a contract to supply 2,000 sets of TD-SCDMA base station RF power amplifier modules to Datang Mobile Communications Equipment Co., Ltd. (''Datang Mobile'').

The TD-SCDMA base station RF power amplifier module is the most important RF component in TD-SCDMA base station. The bulk supply of power amplifier modules to Datang Mobile is the TD-SCDMA TRB 2W module, our independently developed active module customized for Datang Mobile's TD-SCDMA base station. Following the bulk production of passive RF modules for several base station manufacturers, this is the Company's first formal supply of TD-SCDMA active RF modules in bulk to base station OEMs. Active RF modules mainly refer to Power Amplifier modules that are used to amplify electromagnetic waves. Compared to passive RF modules, such as filters and duplexers, the development of Power Amplifier modules requires more advanced technology.
