Celebrating 11 Years of Turning "Ugly Couches" Into Stylish Sofas

2007 Finalists head to New York to appear on "Live with Regis and Kelly"

ALLENTOWN, Pa., May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Sure Fit Inc., the leading provider and marketer of ready-made furniture covers, is announcing the 11th anniversary of their annual "Ugly Couch Contest."

Who knew "ugly" could be cause for celebration? If it's old, worn, unsightly, revolting, repulsive, lumpy, grumpy or just plain ugly, Sure Fit wants to see it. As the leading creator of stylish, easy, affordable decorating solutions to quickly transform your home, Sure Fit created the "Ugly Couch Contest" to illustrate that our products can take the "ugliest couch," and transform it into a stylish sofa. Help us celebrate our 11th anniversary of this perennially loved contest. Contestants are invited to submit a photo of their ugly couch to potentially win a $5,000 cash prize, plus their choice of 10 Sure Fit products from our complete decorating line to achieve a total room makeover.

Entries will be accepted from June 4, 2007 through August 3, 2007; the total number of entries will be narrowed down by Sure Fit to ten (10) semi- finalists. Semi-finalist photos will be posted online at http://www.surefit.com/ from August 10, 2007 through August 24, 2007 to be voted on by the American public, who will narrow down the entries to three (3) finalists. The three (3) finalists will receive a trip with accommodations to New York City to appear on "Live with Regis and Kelly" in September, where "Live's" studio audience will vote for the grand prize winner.

According to the official rules, the criteria used by voters throughout the contest are: ugliness of overall design and fabric pattern, offensiveness of color, inappropriateness of fabric, and any combination of the above as it relates to any period in the recent history of furniture.
